Garrett T. Farrell, a 26-year-old male police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department, tragically lost his life on September 26, 1980. Officer Farrell was shot and killed while pursuing a thief who had robbed a 72-year-old woman of her purse. The incident occurred in a wooded area near the intersection of Price Street and Wayne Avenue.
