In a tragic turn of events on December 22, 1990, Darryl Patterson, a 33-year-old Black male, was shot and killed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The incident, which also claimed the life of 34-year-old Thomas Winn, unfolded in an alley behind Warnock Street and was believed to be the result of a drug deal that had gone wrong.
