Steven Michael Jerman, a 46-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a dedicated officer with the Kane Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania. On February 20, 1999, Patrolman Jerman was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop. He had pulled over a speeding vehicle that was tailgating another car in the small mountain community of Kane.
