In the autumn of 2013, a violent encounter on a Minneapolis street set in motion a chain of events that would ultimately claim the life of Larry Jermaine Jones, a 41-year-old African-American man. On the evening of November 4th, Jones was a passenger in a vehicle when gunfire erupted in the 2000 block of Irving Avenue North. A bullet struck Jones, inflicting a devastating injury that would leave him paralyzed.
