On a tragic evening in Philadelphia, what was meant to be a celebration turned into a scene of immense loss and sorrow. It was September 6, 2011, and inside Lorena's Grocery Store on 50th and Parrish Streets, the Nunez family was gathered. Juana Carmen Nunez, a 44-year-old Hispanic woman, was with her husband, Porfirio Nunez, whose 50th birthday it was, their two teenage daughters, and Porfirio's sister, Lina Sanchez.
