On a Wednesday afternoon, September 10, 2014, a sense of normalcy was shattered inside the Fireside Caribbean Restaurant in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. Lynneil Williams, a 31-year-old African American man from Penn Hills, was seated in a booth, his meal just placed before him. It was approximately 3:40 p.m., and the restaurant had a handful of other patrons. The scene was tragically disrupted when an unknown man entered the establishment.
