On a cold December night in Erie, Pennsylvania, the life of 24-year-old Jaree Robert Warren, Sr. was tragically cut short. On December 6, 2014, Warren was fatally shot in a parking lot near West 18th and Raspberry streets. He had been inside the nearby Last Stop Cafe shortly before the incident. Following the shooting, Warren was rushed to UPMC Hamot, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation into Warren's death led authorities to Julian R. Mickel. Prosecutors alleg ...
