On January 21, 2010, 39-year-old Carrie Johnson was tragically killed in Detroit while attending to her duties as a home health nurse. Carrie was visiting a 68-year-old patient in Detroit when an unknown assailant entered the home, shot both Carrie and her patient, and subsequently set the house on fire. The suspect stole Carrie’s vehicle and fled the scene, leaving behind a crime that shocked the community.
