Joseph Darnell Jones, a 49-year-old Black / African American male, was killed on February 8, 2016, in West Philadelphia. The shooting happened late that Monday afternoon, just after 5:00 p.m., along 62nd Street. News reports differed slightly on the exact cross street, with one placing the incident in the area of 62nd and Market streets and another describing it at 62nd and Arch streets, but both accounts placed the violence in the same West Philadelphia corridor.
