Annika Monique Steinbacher, a 17-year-old girl from Trout-run, PA, tragically passed away on November 1, 2016. She was a senior at Williamsport Area High School, where she excelled as an honors student and was involved in the creative writing club. Annika was also passionate about dancing and had been a dancer for 11 years. Her bubbly personality and generous heart made her well-loved by friends and family.
Annika's death was determined to be a result of a suspected double suicide. She was found shot dead alongside her 16-year-old boyfriend, Brenden Shipman, in a parked car near Rose Valley Lake, about 80 miles north of Harrisburg, PA. Investigators believe that the two teenagers took their own lives together.
There were no arrests or suspects identified in connection with Annika's death, as it was ruled a suicide. No further litigations or law cases were pursued in relation to the incident. The community mourned the loss of Annika, remembering her for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and her self-proclaimed "teacup-sized human" personality.
