In the late hours of a Monday night in East Germantown, an argument between two employees at a local bar tragically escalated, leaving one man dead. Christopher Michael Johnson, a 44-year-old male, was the manager at Sharon's Little Spot. An altercation with the bar's security guard, Edward Morgan, which began inside the establishment, moved to a back room.
The nature of the dispute remains unclear, but it turned physical and ended in gunfire.
Morgan, who was armed and in uniform, shot Johnson three times. Despite his injuries, Johnson was conscious and able to speak with police when they arrived at the scene. He had been shot twice in the torso and once in the thigh. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Tragically, despite the efforts of medical staff, Christopher Johnson succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The security guard, Edward Morgan, was taken into custody by the Philadelphia police for questioning. Following the investigation into the fatal shooting, Morgan was arrested and charged with murder and other related offenses for the death of his manager.
