The vibrant energy of the Reserve Lounge nightclub on Arch Street gave way to a scene of violence that would forever alter the lives of those who knew and loved him.
An argument, its origins unclear, sparked within the club's walls around 2:30 a.m.
and spilled out into the street, escalating with a horrifying suddenness. In the ensuing chaos, an unidentified gunman discharged a firearm at least 20 times, the sound of gunfire shattering the night. Darden was struck by two of the bullets, one to his torso and another to his face. He was pronounced dead at the scene just twenty minutes later, his life cut short in a senseless act of violence. Another individual, a 25-year-old man, later arrived at a hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, with a gunshot wound, though his connection to the incident remained part of the ongoing investigation.
