In the summer of 2017, a domestic dispute in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 34-year-old Derrick Faulk. A Black male, Faulk was a resident of the 1500 block of Orland Street, the same block where the deadly incident unfolded. On the night of Thursday, July 27, 2017, police responded to a call for a shooting at approximately 10 p.m. and discovered Faulk with a gunshot wound to his neck.
