In the late summer evening of August 17, 2017, the life of 19-year-old Jeremy Edwards, a Black male from Pittsburgh, was tragically cut short. He was discovered on Shemp Way in the city's Middle Hill District, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the face. Paramedics arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. and pronounced him dead. While he was found on the street, the precise location of where the shooting occurred was not immediately clear to investigators.
