In the late summer of 2017, the life of 35-year-old Alberto Montanez, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in Allentown, Pennsylvania. On the night of Saturday, August 26th, Montanez was in the vicinity of the 700 block of North Eighth Street. It was there, under the cover of darkness, that an unknown assailant or assailants opened fire, striking Montanez.
The Allentown Police Department was alerted to the sound of gunfire in the area and responded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Montanez suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched, and he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Alberto Montanez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead in the early hours of the following morning. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office later confirmed that the cause of his death was a gunshot wound and officially ruled it a homicide.

Following their investigation, the Allentown Police Department secured an arrest warrant for an individual in connection with the murder of Alberto Montanez. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide. As the case moved through the legal system, the individual faced a trial for his alleged involvement in the death of Alberto Montanez. Following the presentation of evidence by the prosecution and the defense, the suspect was ultimately convicted for the homicide of Alberto Montanez.
