In the fall of 2017, the life of 23-year-old Madison Walb, a female from Reading, Pennsylvania, was tragically cut short. On October 8, 2017, her body was discovered wrapped in a carpet in a wooded area off Riegel Road in Lower Heidelberg Township. An autopsy would later reveal that she had died from a single gunshot wound to the head. The discovery of her body marked the beginning of a year-long investigation into her death.
Investigators eventually pieced together the final hours of Madison Walb's life. They determined that she had been killed in a third-floor apartment on Franklin Street in Reading, an apartment described by the Berks County District Attorney as a 'trap house' known for drug activity. The investigation led to the identification of three suspects: a sister and brother, Carmen and Christopher Morales-Feliciano, and a third individual, Christian Carmona-Llanos. According to authorities, Carmen Morales-Feliciano was the one who shot Walb.
In October 2018, charges were filed against all three suspects. Carmen Morales-Feliciano, then 25, faced the most severe charges, including first- and third-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and criminal conspiracy. Her brother, 22-year-old Christopher Morales-Feliciano, and 26-year-old Christian Carmona-Llanos were both charged with abuse of a corpse and criminal conspiracy for their alleged roles in helping to dispose of Walb's body. At the time the charges were announced, the Morales-Feliciano siblings were already incarcerated in Berks County Prison on unrelated drug charges. Shortly after the charges in the Walb case were made public, Carmona-Llanos surrendered to the authorities.
The case against the three suspects moved through the legal system, resulting in a conviction for one of the accused. In May 2019, Christopher Morales-Feliciano entered into a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty to his involvement in the disposal of Madison Walb's body and was sentenced to an aggregate term of seven and a half to twenty-five years in prison. This sentence also encompassed other unrelated charges. The final legal outcomes for Carmen Morales-Feliciano, the alleged shooter, and Christian Carmona-Llanos have not been publicly reported.
