On the Friday before Christmas, Justin Kephart was involved in a standoff with police at his Bethlehem Township home.
During the standoff, he shot and killed his mother, Marylouise Meixell-Moyer. After killing his mother, Justin Kephart also took his own life. Authorities later revealed that the firearms Justin used in the murder-suicide were believed to have been taken from his father's collection, which was described as an 'arsenal.'
In the midst of the standoff, Justin had contacted his father, Dale, to inform him that he had killed his mother and a police officer, although no officer was ultimately harmed.
