Terry Ray Minnier, a 50-year-old male from Lewisburg, PA, tragically died on August 13, 2018. He was a well-respected youth basketball and soccer coach, known for his dedication to mentoring children. Minnier was shot multiple times by Adam Bartlett, a 38-year-old male from Lewisburg, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide.
The incident occurred at the Kelly Meadow View Townhouse Apartments in Union County.
According to police reports, Bartlett hid in a wooded area near the parking lot and ambushed Minnier as he was returning to his vehicle. After shooting Minnier, Bartlett drove to another location and took his own life. Investigators revealed that Bartlett was upset because Minnier was seeing a former girlfriend.
The case was treated as a murder-suicide, and no further arrests or litigations were pursued as Bartlett died at the scene. The Union County District Attorney, D. Peter Johnson, confirmed that the motive was personal and related to Bartlett's emotional state.
Minnie's death was a significant loss to the community, as he was a role model and mentor to many young athletes. His legacy continues through the countless lives he touched and the positive impact he had on the youth he coached.
