On September 5, 2018, an otherwise quiet evening was violently interrupted when intruders forced their way into his West 29th Street home. In a senseless act of violence, Phillip was shot and killed. Known for his kind nature and close bonds with his family, his sudden and brutal death sent shockwaves through his community and left his loved ones devastated.
The investigation into Phillip's murder soon revealed that it was not an isolated incident but rather a key event in a wider-ranging and violent crime spree. The Erie Police Department dedicated extensive resources to unraveling the complex web of robberies and violence that had plagued the city. Their persistent efforts eventually led to a major breakthrough and the identification of three primary suspects: Raeshawn D. McCallum, Destin A. Dortch, and Christopher J. Bridges. The subsequent arrests brought a glimmer of hope to a community desperate for answers and justice.
