On a tragic evening in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 38-year-old Jeremy Cadwallader lost his life in a violent sequence of events that concluded a domestic dispute. It was October 11, 2018, when Cadwallader was present at a residence on North 2nd Street, assisting a female friend in moving out of the home she shared with her ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old Daniel Finkel.
Earlier that day, Finkel had been involved in a domestic incident with the woman, which led to his arrest and subsequent
release. Upon returning to his residence, he discovered Cadwallader and the woman. Finkel confronted them, making threats on their lives. While the woman was able to flee, Finkel shot Cadwallader multiple times on the porch of the home.
Following the shooting of Cadwallader, Finkel walked to the sidewalk and turned the gun on himself, taking his own life. When police responded to reports of shots fired around 6:30 p.m., they discovered Finkel deceased on the sidewalk from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nearby, they found Jeremy Cadwallader with gunshot injuries. He was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Dauphin County District Attorney's office later confirmed the incident was a murder-suicide. There were no other suspects, and no arrests were made as the perpetrator was deceased.
