Sylvan Simon, an 87-year-old male of Jewish ethnicity, tragically lost his life on October 27, 2018, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was one of the eleven victims of the horrific shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood. The gunman, Robert Bowers, carried out the attack during Shabbat morning services, resulting in the deaths of Sylvan Simon and his wife, Bernice Simon, who was 84 years old.
