Jacob Smith, a 19-year-old male from Linesville, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away on November 23, 2019. Jacob was a sophomore at Slippery Rock University and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was born on December 30, 1999, and was well-loved by his family and friends.
Jacob's death was ruled accidental by Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell.
According to reports, Jacob was hunting with friends near Conneaut Lake Park when his shotgun accidentally discharged while he was removing items from a hunting sled. The shotgun pellets struck him in the abdomen, and despite being rushed to Meadville Medical Center, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
State police and the Pennsylvania Game Commission conducted an investigation into the incident. However, there were no arrests or suspects identified as the death was determined to be an accident. There were no litigations or murder cases related to Jacob's death.
Jacob is remembered fondly by his family, including his parents Scott and Jodie Smith, his sister Lauren Smith, and his girlfriend Kierston Shrock. His passing left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him.
