On a Friday night in June of 2020, violence once again found 51-year-old Byron Johnson of West Oak Lane. Just after 11 p.m. on June 19th, authorities were called to a property on the 5500 block of Bloyd Street in the East Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. There, inside a doorway, they discovered Mr. Johnson, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his head.
This tragic incident was not the first time he had been a target. Investigators revealed that this was the third time Byron Johnson had been shot. In fact, he had been wounded in the left shoulder at the very same location just two months prior, on April 5th of the same year. The circumstances leading up to the final, fatal shooting remain unclear.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police began their investigation into the homicide.
