On December 5, 2020, Madison Paige Gilroy, a 22-year-old woman from North Huntingdon, PA, was tragically shot and killed in Stowe Township. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Tunnel Way and Island Avenue. According to police reports, Madison was a patron at the True Diamonds Gentleman’s Club before the shooting began in the parking lot and continued up Tunnel Way. Investigators believe that Madison was not the intended target of the shooting, which involved two individuals shooting at each other.
Madison was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene. A 53-year-old man was also found with a graze wound to his leg, but his injuries were not life-threatening. The Allegheny County Police Department launched a homicide investigation and identified multiple suspects. They also reviewed video footage from the scene, including a township camera near the intersection.
In May 2022, Jerrel Ingram, a 33-year-old man from Arlington Heights, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in connection with Madison's death. Ingram had been involved in an ongoing dispute with a security guard at the True Diamonds Gentleman’s Club and fired multiple rounds from his car, hitting Madison with a stray bullet. Ingram was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in prison as part of a plea agreement.
Madison's family described her as a kind, caring, and non-judgmental woman who aspired to become a doctor. Her best friend, Eliza Watson, shared that Madison had a radiant energy and always persevered in her drive to help others. The loss of Madison has deeply affected her family and friends, who remember her for her strength, uniqueness, and brilliance.
The investigation into Madison's death highlighted the need for increased safety measures around the True Diamonds Gentleman’s Club, which had been the site of multiple incidents. The Stowe Township police department worked with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Nuisance Bar Task Force to address the ongoing issues with the club.
Madison Paige Gilroy's death remains a tragic reminder of the impact of senseless violence and the importance of community safety efforts.
