In the winter of 2021, the life of 27-year-old Dashawn Green-Brewster was tragically cut short. A native of Philadelphia, Green-Brewster was reported missing from the Johnstown, Pennsylvania area on January 19, 2021. The search for him ended in the grim discovery of his body two days later, on January 21, in a grassy area along Mulligan Hill Road in Indiana County.
An autopsy would later confirm that he had died from a gunshot wound, leading authorities to rule his death a homicide.
Investigators determined that Green-Brewster had been shot on January 18, three days before his body was found, during a robbery at a residence in Johnstown. The investigation into his death led to the arrest of 19-year-old Noah David Turous of Vintondale. In May 2022, Turous was charged with multiple felonies, including robbery, burglary, and criminal trespass, in connection with Green-Brewster's death. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Following his arrest, Turous was held in the Cambria County Prison.
Further investigation into the homicide implicated a Johnstown couple, Marcellus Audley Green and Taylyn Edwards. In October 2021, Marcellus Green was apprehended in North Carolina and charged in connection with the fatal shooting. Details of Taylyn Edwards's specific charges in this case were not as widely reported. The case against the three suspects slowly proceeded through the legal system. In a separate and unrelated case, Taylyn Edwards was later sentenced to life in prison for the kidnapping and murder of another individual in Indiana County, which occurred in October 2022. The final outcomes of the charges against Noah David Turous and Marcellus Audley Green in the death of Dashawn Green-Brewster have not been publicly detailed.
