On a cold February day in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, the life of 16-year-old Jeffrey 'JJ' Kiara Janae Bright was tragically cut short. On February 22, 2021, the transgender male, a student at Ambridge High School, was shot and killed inside his home on Maplewood Avenue. He was not the only victim that day; his 22-year-old non-binary sibling, Jasmine Alycia Cannady, was also killed. The person responsible for their deaths was their own mother, Krisinda Ann Bright, who was 48 years old at the time.
