Rodney Hargrove, a 20-year-old African American man, was fatally shot on March 18, 2021, shortly after being released from the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hargrove had been incarcerated for about a week on charges including carrying a firearm without a license. He was released around 1 a.m. after his father posted bail. Prison personnel transported him across the street to a SEPTA bus stop, where he was waiting for his family to pick him up.
