Tymel Fullwood, a 35-year-old man from Tinicum, PA, tragically died on May 16, 2021, from a gunshot wound to his right side. He was found bleeding and was later pronounced dead at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Fullwood had been staying at the Econo Lodge in Tinicum, which is located next to the Motel 6 where the shooting occurred.

The investigation into Fullwood's death revealed that he was targeted for assassination. Surveillance footage showed Fullwood checking into the motel at 5:20 p.m. on the day of his death. Later that evening, a red-orange Dodge Charger was seen driving past his room, and Charles Thomas Drewery, a 42-year-old man from Philadelphia, was seen walking in the area outside the room. A woman opened the door to Fullwood's room and let Drewery enter. As Drewery entered, he removed a firearm from his waistband. Moments later, Fullwood was seen fleeing the room and running to the Motel 6. Drewery and the woman were later seen entering the Dodge Charger.

Drewery was identified as the shooter using the video footage. Further investigation revealed that the Dodge Charger belonged to Drewery's mother and was traced to an address in Philadelphia. It was also determined that Drewery was wanted for a March 2021 armed robbery in Philadelphia, and the Dodge Charger was associated with that crime. Drewery did not have a license to carry a firearm.

Charles Thomas Drewery was arrested and charged with criminal homicide, murder of the first and third degree, and related firearms charges. He was committed to George W. Hill Correctional Facility without bail. In February 2024, Drewery was sentenced to 17½ to 35 years in state prison after pleading guilty to murder in the third degree and possession of a firearm prohibited.

The case highlighted the meticulous and thorough detective work required to solve such a violent crime. District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer emphasized that the investigation was multi-faceted and painstaking. Despite the tragic loss, the efforts of the Tinicum Township Police Department and other law enforcement agencies ensured that justice was served for Tymel Fullwood.
