Nasir Marks, an 18-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, PA, was tragically shot and killed on May 25, 2021, in the Mantua neighborhood. He was a senior at Overbrook High School and was set to graduate in just two weeks before attending Kutztown University in the fall. Nasir was shot multiple times around 7:30 p.m. while visiting his girlfriend in Mantua. His father, Jermaine Thurman, believes Nasir was in the wrong place at the wrong time and had not been involved in any trouble.
