Keith Lavar Wallace, a 34-year-old Black/African American male from York, Pennsylvania, was killed on the night of June 6, 2021, after gunfire broke out in York City. Police reported that the shooting happened at about 8:56 p.m. near South Belvidere Avenue and Salem Avenue, and the York County Coroner’s Office later identified Wallace as the person who died.

The first public reports described the scene in plain terms: a man had been shot and killed in York on a Sunday night.
