In the winter of 2022, a bright light in the community of East Mount Airy, Philadelphia, was tragically extinguished. Carissa Bright, a 17-year-old female, was fatally shot on the evening of Friday, January 14th. She was a passenger in a parked white Toyota on the 6500 block of Ross Street when another vehicle, a dark-colored SUV, pulled alongside. At least one individual from the SUV opened fire into the Toyota, striking Carissa. She was rushed to Chestnut Hill Hospital by a private vehicle but ...
