In the evening hours of Saturday, January 22, 2022, a tragic event unfolded on the 3500 block of Scotts Lane in Philadelphia. Devon Harris-Harper, a 25-year-old male resident of North 31st Street, was discovered lying in the street, having sustained numerous gunshot wounds. The call to Philadelphia Police officers came in at approximately 8:44 p.m.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported Harris-Harper to Temple University Hospital.
Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that night. The initial investigation by police at the scene led to the recovery of a firearm.
In the weeks that followed the shooting, the investigation progressed. On March 20, 2022, the Philadelphia Police Department made an arrest in connection with the death of Devon Harris-Harper. While a suspect was taken into custody, the case is pending trial for a final resolution.
