On July 1, 2022, 18-year-old Darrian Davis was fatally shot in Pittsburgh's Hazelwood neighborhood. Davis, who was from West Homestead, was sitting in a parked car on Johnston Avenue when he was struck by gunfire. The bullet punctured his carotid artery, and he died about 40 minutes later. Two other individuals in the car were also injured, one in the chest and neck, and the other with a graze wound to the hand.
