Donae Donnie Nya Cooper, a 20-year-old woman of African American ethnicity, tragically lost her life on July 15, 2022, in Philadelphia, PA. Donae was shot from behind by Desmond M. Adebayo, a man she had been dating for less than a month. The incident occurred after an argument escalated, with Donae reportedly throwing household items and using a small taser against Adebayo. Adebayo claimed self-defense under Pennsylvania's "Stand Your Ground" law, which led to him not facing any charges.
