On August 20, 2022, Jaleel Akiel Sthillaire, a 28-year-old man from Allentown, PA, was fatally shot in a double-shooting incident. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near South 15th Street and Union Street. Officers responding to the scene found Sthillaire and another unidentified man with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where Sthillaire was pronounced dead, and the second victim was expected to survive.
An autopsy revealed that Sthillaire's cause of
death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office ruled his death a homicide. The investigation into his death is ongoing, with city police, the coroner's office, and the Lehigh County district attorney's Homicide Task Force involved in the case. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the second victim has not been disclosed.
The tragic incident marked the sixth homicide in Allentown for the year 2022. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist in the investigation.
