Investigators identified Alan Meyers, a 17-year-old from Black Creek Township, as the suspect. Meyers was accused of entering Kassadey's home through a window in the basement and shooting her during the early morning hours. He later fled the scene, disposed of the weapon, and hid his car in a friend's garage.
Meyers was arrested and charged with third-degree murder.
