On the night of July 23, 1968, during the Glenville shootout in Cleveland, Ohio, James Haynes, a 30-year-old African American male, was tragically killed. Employed full-time as a stock clerk at TRW, Haynes also served as the maintenance man and night watchman for the five-unit apartment building where he resided with his family.
