On January 4, 2008, Derick L. Huff Jr., a 20-year-old Black male from Columbus, OH, was tragically killed by multiple gunshot wounds outside his apartment at 1160 Oak Street. He was found lying on the sidewalk and was later pronounced dead at Grant Medical Center. The incident marked Columbus' first homicide of the year.
