On March 9, 2014, Jose Andy Chavez, a 26-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, was tragically killed in a shooting at the Last Call Bar in Fremont, Ohio. Chavez, an off-duty police officer from the Elmore Police Department, was celebrating his birthday with friends and family when the incident occurred. The shooter, identified as Igmidio Mista, a 33-year-old resident of Fremont, was arrested and charged with three counts of murder.
