In the summer of 2011, the quiet life of a Detroit man was violently cut short in his own home. On the last day of July, 56-year-old Charles Burnett was discovered deceased inside his residence at 12026 Rutland Street. The discovery sent a ripple of concern through the neighborhood as the circumstances of his death were not immediately clear.
