Michael L. Cumberland, a 39-year-old African American male, tragically died on July 13, 2014, in Columbus, Ohio. Cumberland was shot and killed on the front porch of his mother's home in the 1100 block of Berkeley Avenue. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m., and Cumberland's niece discovered his body about five hours later. Erica N. Haley, who was with Cumberland at the time, was critically injured by a bullet to the forehead but survived.
