Anthony Sowell Jr., a 27-year-old African American man from Columbus, OH, was tragically shot and killed on the night of September 18, 2015. He had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for aggravated robbery and assault. Just three months after his release, Sowell was found in the street in the 700 block of Napoleon Avenue, having been pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
