On July 18, 2021, Mohamed Abdulkadir Suleiman, a 19-year-old male of Somali descent, was tragically shot and killed in Franklin Township, Columbus, OH. The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. when Suleiman was shot multiple times in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 400 block of Knob Hill Court West following a report of a shooting.
Ahmed Mohamed Ali, also 19 years old, was arrested two days later and charged with
aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in connection with Suleiman's death. According to the sheriff's office, Ali shot and killed Suleiman while attempting to rob him. During the investigation, detectives found evidence linking Ali to the crime, and he was taken into custody. Ali is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.
The sheriff's office believes that there may be additional suspects involved in the incident and is continuing to investigate. They have asked anyone with information to come forward and contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office detective bureau.
