On November 11, 2015, 24-year-old DeMarco Jerrell Sharp, a Black male, was fatally shot in the doorway of an apartment building in the 1800 block of Holburn Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Officers arrived at the scene around 11:45 p.m. and found Sharp's body just inside the exterior front door. His death was recorded as the city's 77th homicide of the year.
Despite the tragic nature of the incident, no additional information about the shooting was released immediately.
