On November 11, 2015, 24-year-old DeMarco Jerrell Sharp, a Black male, was fatally shot in the doorway of an apartment building in the 1800 block of Holburn Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Officers arrived at the scene around 11:45 p.m. and found Sharp's body just inside the exterior front door. His death was recorded as the city's 77th homicide of the year.
