Tashawna Gaines, a 21-year-old woman from Dayton, Ohio, tragically lost her life on August 17, 2016. Gaines was a passenger in a car that was shot at by an unknown assailant while it was stopped at the intersection of North Gettysburg Avenue and West Third Street. Both Gaines and the driver, a 36-year-old man, were shot multiple times and taken to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, Gaines succumbed to her injuries, while the driver survived.
