Timothy Le-Land Michael Traynum, a 21-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically passed away on June 23, 2017, in Toledo, Ohio. Timothy was born on September 19, 1995, and was known for his love of playing football and spending time with friends. He attended Jesup W. Scott High School and later graduated from George Bush High School. Timothy is survived by his daughter, McKenzie Trayum, his mother, Ronnell Mckinney, his stepfather, Willie McKinney, his brother, David Lewis, and his sister, Zaina Traynum, among other family members and friends.
Timothy's death was the result of a homicide. He was shot twice in the back around 11 p.m. on June 23, 2017, near Earl and Rogers streets in East Toledo. Authorities found his body in a field next to the Weiler Homes. Despite extensive investigations, the police have not yet determined a motive for the killing. Timothy's death marked the 22nd homicide of 2017 in Toledo.
In the years following Timothy's death, the Toledo police have continued to seek new information and renew efforts to identify a suspect. In February 2023, they made a public appeal for anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity and potential rewards through the Crime Stopper program. However, as of now, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.
The Traynum family and the community continue to seek justice for Timothy, hoping that new leads will eventually bring closure to this tragic case. Timothy's memory lives on through his loved ones and the impact he had on those who knew him.
