Jamel Sechrest, a 32-year-old man from Cincinnati, OH, tragically died on July 9, 2018. He was fatally shot outside a home that was being used as an unlicensed daycare facility. Sechrest was found suffering from a gunshot wound at around 10:31 p.m. on Wieman Avenue in East Price Hill. Despite initial reports that his injuries were non-life threatening, he succumbed to his injuries the following day at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
At the time of the shooting, there were
four children in the home, but fortunately, none of them were injured. The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit launched an investigation into the incident, but no suspects have been identified or arrests made to date. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
The case remains unsolved, and the investigation continues as authorities seek justice for Jamel Sechrest. His death has left a void in the community and raised concerns about the safety of unlicensed daycare facilities.
