On April 14, 2019, Adane Kinde, a 34-year-old man from Columbus, OH, was found fatally shot in front of Awah Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar on South Hamilton Road. He was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:29 a.m. Kinde's death marked the city's 28th homicide of the year.
