Harvey Briggs, a 54-year-old former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper, went missing on September 30, 2022, from Destin, Florida. Briggs had recently been sentenced to supervised probation following a misdemeanor assault conviction for an incident in 2020, where he removed a protester's face mask during a COVID-19 demonstration. After his sentencing, Briggs reportedly made concerning statements, which worried his family.
