In the summer of 2012, amidst a surge of violence that gripped the city of Detroit, a young man's life was tragically cut short. Deandre Miller, a 23-year-old African-American male, was shot and killed on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 11:00 PM in the vicinity of 11761 Christie Avenue on the city's east side.
